Using free Google web-based programs, this hands-on workshop will teach you the most useful and effective computer applications used in the market today! We'll work with word processing software and related applications to compose letters, marketing pieces, spreadsheets, calendar and time management, shared documents.... and more! Because this is a hands-on course, we asked that THOSE ATTENDING POSSESS BASIC KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SKILLS.

DAY ONE: Hands-on exercises: pathing, designing letterhead and marketing pieces using clipart, external graphic applications and drawing software, setting up proposals, incorporating tables and charts into documents, setting up databases then using sort and merge functions to set up mass mail marketing. Also discussed will be terminology; equipment and software, networking consideratiosn and data back-up. You will also set up a spreadhseet and produce a slide show for marketing. We will also work with contact manager software applications including address books, personal scheduling and database management!

DAY TWO: Focusing on internet technology, we will navigate the web for use in today's construction market. We will explore the web and learn how to register a domain name, find a web host, build a website and use graphics and digital photography in website management. You will learn how to set up and manage your own site. As always, workers comp and safety will also be discussed this day.
